Motor Boat Club Chester

Chester Motor Boat Club

Who are we?

The Chester Motor Boat Club was formed in 1960 and is situated on the banks of the River Dee about 1 mile from the city centre.  We are a members-only club that exists to promote the use of motorised craft along the beautiful River Dee.

Our members enjoy facilities for both wet and dry moorings.

What do we do?

We have an annual calendar of events that are aimed at promoting the use of the river through various social activities.  Members support this by actively getting involved in workdays to maintain our club facility and hosting or attending various events.

We also make our facilities available for hire and they make an ideal setting for birthday/wedding parties or other club gatherings.

BECOME A MEMBER

We are always looking for new members and would welcome anyone who has a passion for boats or even just enjoying time down by the river watching the world go by.

If you would like to apply to become a member of the Chester Motor Boat Club please follow the application process or contact the Club Secretary using the links below.

OPENING CRUISE

We were back at The Ship Inn again this year and enjoyed a fantastic Sunday Lunch. It was great to have 5 boats in attendance and over 20 members, including some new ones.

After a miserable few days, the weather finally turned and we had some lovely afternoon sun for cruising up and down the river.

PICNIC AFTERNOON

What a very special afternoon with 7 boats in attendance!

We all sailed up to Eccleston and moored up on the river bank.

All present had a wonderful time. It was exciting for everyone to see people that they haven't seen in a while.

Even the weather was excellent!

UPRIVER CHINESE

What a fantastic night! It was great to have 9 boats in attendance. We had the river to ourselves and were able to travel up and down in convoy, passing prawn crackers from boat to boat! Even the weather just about held off for our impromptu musical performance. Thanks to Gill and Mike Case for organising the event and the use of Carib.
